Tsunami Sushi Prepares to Launch Lakewood Ranch Location

Located in Downtown Sarasota, Tsunami Sushi & Hibachi Grill offers “creative sushi, fresh sashimi, and a new spin on Asian fusion—all at remarkable prices.” Founded by Sam Ray, the Sarasota sushi brand announced plans to open a Tsunami Sushi location in Lakewood Ranch, and recently submitted plan review paperwork indicates the restaurant is moving forward with an opening at 11627 State Road 70 E.

Tsunami’s sushi rolls include Amazing Salmon (kani, cucumber, salmon, avocado, spicy mayo), Double J (Crab Delight, cream cheese, avocado, masago, scallion, soy paper, panko style, eel sauce, yum yum sauce), and Florida (tuna, salmon, cream cheese, avocado, masago, tempura flakes with spicy mayo). There are also sushi entrees like Chirashi or the Sushi & Sashimi For Two combo.

Hibachi entrees, served with soup and salad, feature proteins like shrimp, salmon, filet mignon, lobster, and scallop (along with mixtures like Chicken & Shrimp and Filet & Lobster). Other entrees include Yakisoba, Curry, Mongolian Beef, and Seafood Stir Fry.

What Now reached out to Sam Ray on Wednesday to inquire about plans for the new location. Ray confirmed news about the upcoming location but was not immediately available to discuss the news further.
