131 Main Plans Lakewood Ranch Location

The steak and seafood restaurant has four locations in the Carolinas and is at work on its first Florida restaurant

Founded almost 20 years ago, steak and seafood restaurant 131 Main offers its classic American fare in four different locations in the Carolinas. And according to recently submitted plan review paperwork, it’s preparing to open a fifth, this time Lakewood Ranch.

The paperwork shows 131 Main opening at 6608 University Parkway, near restaurants like Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Owens Fish Camp.

“As we’re coming up on our 20-year anniversary, we’re looking forward to expanding our brand in the area,” Joe Douglas, President & CEO at Captiva Restaurant Group, told What Now on Wednesday.

Details are still largely under wraps on the location (Douglas did not confirm the address given on the paperwork). The restaurant’s original location in Cornelius, North Carolina, serves a menu with entrees like Blacked Scallops (grilled, lemon butter, polenta, kale & quinoa salad), Cedar Plank Salmon (whole grain mustard butter, chilled wild rice salad), and a Big Island Ribeye (14-oz certified Angus, cut in-house, smashed red potatoes).

It’s not yet known what changes can be expected in the Lakewood Ranch location, whether to the menu or to the décor. The Cornelius location has a “distinctive low country Charleston feel,” with “gas lamps, plank siding, outdoor dining veranda, fire pit and a full view of the open kitchen and hickory wood fire grill.”
