Founded in 1912 by Nicolo Alessi, who had relocated to Florida from Italy, Alessi Bakery has been open in its current home at 2909 W Cypress Street for 52 years. The family-run bakery is now preparing to relocate—but it’s not going very far. Alessi Bakery’s next home is at 3003 W Cypress Street, just next door, according to recent coverage by Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

Construction is expected to finish by the end of 2024, allowing the bakery to move into the new space, where it will start offering wood-fired pizzas, coffee, and cocktails, along with its beloved bakery menu.

Construction plans described in the CL Tampa Bay coverage including a dedicated section for pizza making with a wood-fired oven, along with “a coffee bar next to its large dining area, prep areas for catering orders and cake decoration, a deli, a full-service bar, multiple walk-in coolers and tons of room for Alessi’s multiple bakery displays.”

“We share a nice reputation with the community. We’re always community friendly. We have our regulars that come in all the time that we know by name,” said Phil Alessi, a fourth-generation Alessi Bakery proprietor, in coverage by Fox13News.com.

What Now reached out to Alessi on Monday to inquire about plans for the move. Alessi was not immediately available for comment.
