Founded 1925, Safety Harbor’s historic St. James Hotel is getting a revival. Fox 13 News released coverage of the news back in December, describing plans for the building’s revitalization (which includes the return of the old name, the St. James Hotel, along with the transformation back into a hotel).

“When we found it was for sale, we went more curious than serious,” property co-owner Hooman Hamzehloui said in the Fox 13 coverage. “But as soon as we walked inside, I looked at my partner’s son and was like, ‘We need to buy this.’”

That coverage also announced that the hotel was planning to add a speakeasy, and that there had also been widespread requests for a rooftop bar.

There’s no word out yet on a possible rooftop bar, but the speakeasy is definitely moving forward: Blush Social, a brand new concept from the team behind Wesley Chapel’s Blush Wine Room, will open at 101 Philippe Parkway, according to a plan review submitted by FNS Restaurants, Inc.

What Now confirmed the news on Wednesday with owner Felicia Desai. Desai said Blush Social is working toward an opening in September, in a 2,500-square-foot space that will also feature some outdoor seating.

The menu remains under wraps, but Desai says to expect great cocktails and wines, and if you’re already a fan of the food at Blush Wine Room, you won’t be disappointed.

Be sure to stop by Blush Wine Room at 5863 Goldview Parkway, Unit 107, in Wesley Chapel, and follow @blushwineroom on Instagram.
