“We’re looking forward to Piesanos coming to Bradenton, Florida so our customers can taste the difference,” Roberts tells What Now Tampa.
That difference, according to the company’s website, includes “fresh ingredients, dough made daily, finest quality Grande mozzarella, unique granite stone-fired ovens, and a welcoming atmosphere.”
Piesanos was initially founded in 2000 by husband-and-wife team, Joel and Rebecca Mills, who opened Italian Gator Pizza by the Slice near the University of Florida. In 2009, the Mills teamed up with Mike and Melissa Akey, as well as Laura Young, to turn their quick-service counter into a full-service dining establishment that broadened its menu to include a range of Italian dishes. Finally, in 2014, the company not only opened its third location but also brought Jerry and Sabrina Roberts into the fold, thanks to their “considerable restaurant knowledge and a shared drive to grow the Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza brand.”
Now, with 11 locations to their name and number 12 on the way, “This ambitious group of restaurateurs have maintained a recipe for success that has always stayed the same…[and] the team at Piesanos invites you to come and taste the difference!”
