The Voodoo Brewing Company, a beer brewer and taproom franchise with locations opening all over the country, is expected to launch its first outpost in the Greater Tampa Bay area this fall. Opening at 220 Fourth St N, the new Voodoo location will offer plenty of beer, along with both familiar brewpub eats and a few surprise twists.

“With different Voodoos, you will find commonalities and individual customized dishes as well. There’s a kind of 80-20 rule,” franchise owner Bob Skepnek explained to What Now on Wednesday. “We have a chef on board with a background in fine dining, so we expect to have some surprises you don’t always see at brewpubs. We also have some background in the Midwest, so we’ll bring some Midwest cuisine over here too for people to experience.”

Skepnek says the Downtown St. Pete Voodoo stands to be one of the chain’s largest in the country, featuring a total of 8,000 square feet spread over two stories, and including an arcade and game area in addition to its bar and dining room.

“Since our founding in 2005 in Meadville, PA, Voodoo Brewing Co. has seen explosive growth,” reads a description once found on the brand’s website. “What began as a small brewery has now expanded to multiple taprooms across the country, including Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Nevada. The opening of our production facility in 2017 has allowed for expansion of our award-winning beer inventory. Voodoo Brewing Co.’s focus on product consistency and innovation has earned us accolades from all over the world, making Voodoo Brewing Co. a go-to destination for craft beer enthusiasts.”

What Now reported earler this year on another Voodoo location planned for Valrico. That status of that opening is not currently known.
