The Violet Stone Relocating to Bigger Location

The pizzeria has been drawing crowds, and soon it’ll have the space to seat them

The increasingly popular Violet Stone Pizza & Sandwiches has outgrown its current location at 2134 Ninth Ave. N and is preparing to move to a larger spot in St. Petersburg’s Crescent Heights neighborhood, says recent coverage by St. Pete Rising.

The concept, which first launched as food truck, outgrew its current home quickly: “Customers are often seen devouring the cheesy pies on the hood of their cars in the parking lot as the existing shop only has a few chairs and tables inside and no air conditioning,” says the St. Pete Rising coverage.

Moving into the space formerly occupied by the House of Pipes and Cigars, the Violet Stone will have a much more capacious home with indoor and outdoor seating for 110 guests.

What Now confirmed the news with owner Daniel Fekete on Friday. Fekete said the new location is expected to open in September but declined to share any further details at this time.

“Family run pizza shop,” says a charming description on the Violet Stone’s website. “We make bread. With that bread, we make pizza and sandwiches. We started this business in ’22. We have absolutely no idea what we are doing. We know what kind of food we like and the kind of food we hate. We serve the food we like.”

St. Pete Rising’s describes Violet Stone’s offerings as “well-done Philadelphia-style pizza, with its crispy edges, generous layers of cheese, and fresh tomato sauce.”
