As St. Pete says goodbye to the Chelsea, the popular coffee shop that launched at 2462 Fifth Avenue South back in 2021, the city will soon say hello to a second outpost of HaleLife Bakery. HaleLife is a gluten-free vegan bakery and bistro that already has one St. Pete location in operation at 11270 Fourth St N.

“HaleLife Bakery was specifically created for those living with food restrictions – whether it be due to a food allergy/intolerance, auto immune disease, life threatening illness, you just feel better eliminating certain foods from your diet or because of ethical/personal reasons,” says the Why HaleLife? page on the brand’s website. “Our sole mission is to be an oasis and haven of delicious food that allows for you to safely enjoy things you thought you’d have to give up forever. We focus on safe ingredients first and then phenomenal taste and texture.”
HaleLife’s bakery menu offers selections of cupcakes, donuts, brownies, breads, buns, and more. Its bistro menu features Breakfast All Day choices like Avocado Toast, a Breakfast Sammie, and Breakfast Street Tacos (three corn tortillas, egg, sausage, tomato, onion, avocado salsa, spicy mayo). The Fourth Street bistro also offers a selection of beers, ciders, wines, and hard-seltzers—plus mocktails and other non-alcoholic beverages.
“This is something I genuinely believe in because I need it and understand where people are coming from—we are in the same shoes,” owner Laura McCutcheon says in recent coverage by St. Pete Rising.
What Now reached on Friday to owner Laura McCutcheon to inquire about plans for the opening. McCutcheon was not immediately available for comment.
