Opening at 14219 Walsingham Road, Barks and Brews Taphouse will feature what recent coverage by St. Pete Rising describes as a 7,000-square-foot space where “pet parents and patrons will soon be able to grab a craft beer and watch their dogs run wild inside an expansive new off-leash dog park.”

Barks and Brews will be membership-based, co-owner Patrick Kelly—who is launching the dog park and taphouse in partnership with co-owners Chris Bailey and Rian Fehrman—explained to What Now on Wednesday. Dog owners will be able to register on a monthly (or quarterly, or annual/semiannual) basis, or pay for a day pass.

If you’re coming without dog, you can stop in for a beer free of charge, of course.

Kelly says the taphouse will feature 20 taps, including mainstays like Budweiser and Yuengling, along with a revolving selection of craft brews. There will also be small bites: Kelly says the plan is to partner with other restaurants in the plaza on the food side.

Indeed, the retail center is home to several other restaurants, including Hungry Howie’s Pizza & Subs, Localz Sports Bar & Grill, and Havana Harry’s Market.
