Skippers Down East Galley, a new northern concept located at 43360 US-27 in Davenport is nearing completion and should be open early 2023, if not sooner, says co-owner Christy Lake, who’s opening the restaurant with Maine-based business partners Karen and Skip Eaton.

“Since it’s going to be a down east – we call it a down east galley – it’s a northern thing,” Lake tells What Now Tampa, “we’re going to have lobster rolls, which is something completely different in the area here, no one has real lobster from Maine to make that item the best it can be. Starting, we’re going to have lobster rolls, Jersey dogs, wings, haddock sandwiches, burgers, and more. A lot of fun items to enjoy and try.”

Lake goes on to explain, “It’s going to be small, it’s going to be set looking like it was from up north,” adding, “we’re hoping to expand in the future to a bigger area.”

According to Lake, Skippers Down East Galley is about 70 percent completed, and the team hopes to be open within the next couple of months.
