Located on Little Road, near the intersection with Fox Hollow Drive, the Shoppes at Golden Acres will soon be home to an outpost of breakfast chain Keke’s Breakfast Cafe. A recent plan review shows the restaurant opening in the space at 9842 Little Road—and according to franchise co-owner Lamar Dula, it’s the first of three locations headed to Pasco County.

“We plan on opening another one in Starkey Ranch this July as well,” Dula told What Now on Monday. “And then, hopefully, moving over to Connerton.”

Also behind the location, Dula says, is Bobbi Schrader, a longtime Keke’s employee. Schrader is the Keke’s brand’s first employee franchise owner/operator.

“It’s really a classic work-up-through-the-ranks type of thing,” Dula said.

Keke’s offers waffles, pancakes, French toast, omelets, and other classic breakfast choices, along with a handheld-focused lunch menu centering paninis and other sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and salads. Keke’s elevated breakfast cuisine makes it a competitor mainly with breakfast brand First Watch, Dula says.

As it happens, Keke’s has been planning an arrival in Pasco County for some time, Dula added, although its recent acquisition by Denny’s led, as one might easily imagine, to some delays. With those delays now in the rear view mirror, Keke’s is ready to move forward with its three Pasco County locations.

“We’re definitely excited to open,” said Dula.
