Born on the West Coast and now based in Bradenton, Florida’s favorite brunch chain First Watch looks to be expanding close to home. The brand currently has four locations in Bradenton, and recently submitted plan review paperwork shows a fifth in the works, at 636 67th St. Cir. E.

The brand’s popular menu takes a seasonal approach to its breakfast and brunch, with food offerings changing five times a year.

“Just as we greet each morning with the sunrise, we welcome each season into the First Watch menu with ingredients and flavors inspired by the position of the sun,” says the First Watch website’s Food Ethos page. “That’s why on our menu you’ll find vibrant, green California-grown asparagus in April, or the most refreshing Florida watermelon in July, or tender, sweet yellow corn from the midwest in August.”

Current favorites on the First Watch menu include Shrimp & Grits (Sauteed Cajun shrimp and andouille sausage cooked Lowcountry-style with chicken stock, house-roasted tomatoes, onions, green bell peppers and scallions atop Bob’s Red Mill Cheddar Parmesan cheese grits), Hacienda Hash (Chorizo, red bell pepper and potato hash topped with two cage-free eggs any style, Cheddar and Monterey Jack, spicy ketchup, lime crema drizzle, fresh smashed avocado and scallions), and Hawaiian French Toast (Thick-cut, custard-dipped challah bread griddled and topped with caramelized pineapple, coconut whipped cream, caramel toffee sauce and spiced gingerbread cookie crumbles. Lightly dusted with powdered cinnamon sugar).

The 67th Street location given in the paperwork is currently occupied by a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Opening there, First Watch would join restaurants like Sonny’s BBQ and Waffle House.
