An exciting new restaurant, cafe, and market is headed to Tampa’s Virginia Park neighborhood. The Boujie Bodega, a new concept inspired by Brooklyn‘s bodegas, will offer coffee, boujified bodega-style eats, and even a speakeasy experience at 4217 W Bay to Bay Blvd.

“It’s a bodega that’s all about bringing the community together with great food,” owner Jessica Kustron told What Now on Friday. “In the daytime, it works just like a bodega, with breakfast all day, sandwiches and salads for lunch, and then, three nights a week, it will also open as a speakeasy, with two seatings, from 6 to 8 and from 8 to 10, reservations only.”
The menu by day will feature choices ranging from breakfast sandwiches and flavored lattes (with flavors like crème brulee, cheesecake, strawberry shortcake and more) to charcuterie and tacos. And on speakeasy nights, the menu will be full-on fine-dining.
Kustron is Tampa native. She says the idea for Boujie Bodega was born during time she spent living in Brooklyn, New York.
“I am from Tampa, born and raised, but I felt like Tampa really needed something like this, something different.” She says the Boujie Bodega will bring the Brooklyn bodega style of food and atmosphere to the area. “I wanted to bring that vibe to my hometown so people can enjoy it.”
