Walsingham Commons, a retail center at the intersection of Walsingham Road and Vonn Road in Largo, will soon be home to new outpost of sandwich megachain Subway. A recently submitted plan review shows Subway opening at 12923 Walsingham Road, and franchisee Brent Ford says the location is working toward an opening before the end of the year.

Ford and fellow franchisee Bob Yost are Subway veterans, with experience operating sandwich shops in several states.

“We’ve both been in Subway since the 80s,” Ford told What Now on Tuesday. “We started in the Nashville area and then moved down into Florida.”

With 8 locations in the Nashville market and 12 in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties, the new Largo location makes a total of 21 for the franchisee team.

Subway has something for everyone, from the classic Italian BMT, to the Meatball Marinara, to Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki and Chicken & Bacon Ranch. The chain has also recently launched its new Subway Series subs, with flavor profiles like The Philly, the meat-and-mozzarella-forward Bella Mozza, and—“mother of all meatball subs”—The Boss, with meatballs, pepperoni and BelGioioso® Fresh Mozzarella.

Opening at Walsingham Commons, Subway will join a food and drink community that includes restaurants like Pie12 Napoletana Coal Fired Pizzeria, China Gate, and Tribe Tea House and Kava Bar.
