NCR Ventures Bringing Bar Italia Concept to Lakewood Ranch

The Sarasota location will be Bar Italia’s second in Florida

NCR Ventures, the culinary force behind Ohio-based restaurants like Jojo’s Bar and Cedar Creek Grill, is preparing to expand its Bar Italia concept in the state of Florida. With one Florida location already open in Winter Park, Bar Italia will launch its second in Lakewood Ranch’s Waterside Place shopping district, according to a page on the brand’s website.

“Serving house-made sauces, the freshest pastas, and Italian specialties in a bar-centric, white tablecloth Italian Bistro inspired by your favorite NYC Italian restaurants,” reads a description on the Bar Italia website. “Our combination of old favorites and new flavors await your next visit.”

Bar Italia’s Winter Park dinner menu features pasta dishes like Chef Andy’s Bucatini Bolognese, Gulf Shrimp Spaghetti, and Spicy Vodka Rigatoni. Other entrees include Crispy Chicken Limone (Parmesan crusted chicken, arugula, lemon butter sauce), Veal Marsala (thinly pounded veal, dry marsala, shallots, arugula salad), and Our Famous House-Made Lasagna (made fresh in-house daily with Bolognese meat sauce, marinara, fresh whipped ricotta).

Opening at Waterside Place, Bar Italia will join restaurants like Forked at Waterside, Osteria500, Good Liquid Brewing Company, and Kore Steakhouse. According to a recent Facebook Post by Restaurants in Sarasota, the restaurant is currently under construction.

What Now reached out to owner Rick Doody on Tuesday to inquire about plans for the opening. Doody was not immediately available for comment.
