Mochi donut and hot dog brand Mochinut is expanding its footprint in Central Florida markets like Tampa Bay and Orlando. The brand launched a new location in Wesley Chapel at the end of last year, and more are on the way—in fact, franchisee Kim Nguyen told What Now that she and her partner Amad Hammad are planning to open a total of 30 locations across Central Florida.

That means a lot more of the brand’s signature mochi donuts in the Greater Tampa area.

“Mochi donut is a donut that originated from Hawaii which is a combination of American doughnuts and Japanese mochi,” says the Mochinut website. “Mochinut is gaining popularity owing to its unique shape and wonderful texture; light crispy coating with a soft chewy inside.”

Mochinut’s Mochi donuts come in varieties like Strawberry, Coffee, Churro, Ube, Taro, Matcha, Peanut Butter, Cookies & Crème, and many more. There’s also a selection of hot dogs prepared fried in rice flour. Inside that crispy fried exterior one can find not only a hot dog but also gooey mozzarella (or half of each). The savory confections come in flavors like Rispy Rmane, Hot Cheetos, and Crunch Cereal.

Several locations are in the works for the Tampa market, said Nguyen, with the next one expected to open at 6218 US Highway 98 N in Lakeland.
