Boasting 15,000 square feet of space, Highland House will serve club members and the public, offering what a press release calls “upscale casual flare, serving New American Cuisine at an approachable price point.”

The Feinstein Group is also behind restaurants like the Black Pearl and Sonder Social Club, and the Feintseins are themselves Dunedin locals.

The Dunedin Golf Club is a major historic site in its own right, property of and operated by the city of Dunedin, and launched all the way back in 1927. The club served as PGA of America headquarters for 17 years and has hosted a number of golf championships.

“Working at The Dunedin Golf Club was my first job,” Zach Feinstein told What Now this week. “Actually, when I went back, the golf pro, John Falcone, still recognized me.”

The goal with Highland House is simply to give this fabled golf club the restaurant it deserves, Feinstein said. A restaurant to accompany the newly renovated course, which Feinstein says is “unbelievable.”

“The place that was there before, The Fairway Grill—there was nothing wrong with it. It was what you would expect from a public course restaurant. But we want to bring a truly exceptional dining experience. The idea is to give back to the community, to give the club the amenity it deserves.”

Feinstein says Highland House is in the design stages and is working to be open by the course’s November 1 target.
