Healthy fast-casual brand Crisp & Green has launched its first location in Tampa Bay. Open for business at 1055 E Cumberland Ave., the new Crisp & Green is Florida’s sixth, but there are quite a few more salad shops to come. Walking Tall Brands, which operates Crisp & Green franchises in the Tampa and Orlando markets, has signed an agreement with Crisp & Green to open four more locations here in Greater Tampa.

Mike Lester, who heads up Walking Tall Brands, told What Now on Thursday that the brand’s healthy reputation sometimes leads people to underestimate the food’s flavor: it’s packed with it, Lester says.

“Sometimes people get the idea you have to compromise on taste,” Lester said. “You don’t. Our food is crave-able. People really love it.”

Crisp & Green’s menu features Signature Salads like the BBQ Smokeshow (mixed greens, romaine, BBQ chicken thigh, roasted corn & poblano, napa cabbage, carrot, pickled onion, blue corn chips, & smoky BBQ ranch) and the Thai & Stop Me (arugula, mixed greens, citrus shrimp, orange slices, daikon radish, napa cabbage, carrot, basil, mint, cilantro, peanuts, lime squeeze, & Thai peanut dressing).

Along with these come a variety of grain bowls, loaded with brown rice and greens, including Crispy Teriyaki and The Bold & The Buffalo. You can also build your grain bowl, choosing from a long list of ingredients.

The Crisp & Green menu also features all-gluten-free smoothies, aguas frescas, and acai bowls.

As Crisp & Green prepares to take over Greater Tampa, you can check it out on Cumberland Avenue and follow @crispandgreen on Instagram to keep up with Crisp & Green news.
