Three young coffee entrepreneurs operating under the name Bonsai Beverage Co. are gearing up to open their first storefront at 28929 US Hwy 19 N in Clearwater January 2023, which will serve as a platform and proof-of-concept for more ambitious expansion plans moving forward, according to co-owner Ean Neville.

“As we’re opening this first location, we’re sort of setting up the platform of this business to be easy to replicate so that we can put more locations in more places as we get further into it,” Neville tells What Now Tampa. “That’s one of our long-term goals, is to expand the wholesale part of our business – doing wholesale coffee to other shops in the area and abroad – and just generally expand in all ways from what we start out with.”

Neville, along with co-owners Ian O’Neill and Rachel Brinson, had the idea to open a coffee company back in 2021 when the trio was “drinking coffee that just didn’t taste quite right,” as Brinson explained it to local media outlet CL Tampa. “We all collectively thought we could produce coffee with a better taste and a better atmosphere.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there as we open,” says Neville. “And definitely keep an eye on our social media.”
