Several years after the closing of its location on Fourth Street, fondue brand The Melting Pot will return to St. Petersburg with a new flagship location. According to recent coverage from St. Pete Rising, Front Burner Brands has leased nearly 5,000 square feet of space in the building at 695 Central Avenue for the new Melting Pot.

The Melting Pot has been a long-term presence in St. Pete: the Fourth Street location operated for 32 years before closing in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, although Front Burner’s Chief Operating and Development Officer Dan Stone told St. Pete Rising that the restaurant had been planning to relocate even before COVID.

In addition to its a la carte menu, The Melting Pot offers four-course dinners for two, opening with a choice of cheese fondue. Served with artisan breads and seasonal fruits and veggies, cheese fondues include Wisconsin Cheddar (Aged Cheddar, Emmenthaler, Sam Adams Boston Lager, Garlic, Spices) and French Onion Gruyère (Gruyère, Raclette, Fontina, Beef Broth, Caramelized Onions).

Next comes a choice of two salads, an entrée like Land and Sea (Garlic Pepper Steak, Herb-Crusted Chicken Breast, Shrimp, Atlantic Salmon), and finally, one of several varieties of chocolate fondue. These last include flavor profiles like Flaming Turtle, Bananas Foster, and Pure Chocolate.

What Now reached out to Dan Stone on Friday. Stone was not immediately available for comment on the new location. With renovations set to begin on the building in February, it is not yet known when The Melting Pot’s St. Pete flagship will open to the public.
