The locations included in the deal include the Mellow Mushroom in Brandon, Clearwater and Wesley Chapel. Details of the deal, including purchase price, were not disclosed and it’s unclear why the previous Owner Rob Johnson sold the three stores.
“This acquisition represents an incredible opportunity for our teams, offering new growth paths, learning experiences and the chance to be a part of something bigger in the casual dining segment,” Basham told Tampa Bay Business Journal in a statement. “We look forward to the future of this brand in the Tampa Bay community and are committed to delivering the outstanding experiences our guests have come to love and expect.”
Mellow Mushroom this year celebrated 50 years in business. The restaurant brand was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1974 and today operates in 19 states. Each Mellow Mushroom is locally owned and operated serving up stone-baked pizzas to order in an eclectic, art-filled, and family-friendly environment.
