The local baker extraordinaire quit her job to devote time to her cottage bakery, Synergy Sweets, which she has operated from her home. Now, a location at 3928 Hillsborough Ave in Tampa shows Synergy Sweets as “temporarily closed” on Google Maps. With Dessert Wars under her belt, Shonnika Denise’s hard work may be continuing to pay off.

“When I first quit my job, I was freaking out,” Denise told That’s So Tampa in March of last year. “I was so nervous. I run my bakery from home, so I was doing everything non-stop; social media, baking, shopping, packaging, labelling—sometimes I would lose sleep because my brain wouldn’t shut off.”

But, she says, “I knew what I was making was really good.”

What Now reached out to Denise on Monday to inquire about the possible brick-and-mortar move. Denise was not immediately available for comment.

While we wait for more info, you can see what the buzz is about on the Synergy Sweets website. Cakes are available in flavors like Vanilla Toffee, Oreo, Red Velvet, and Carrot, with fillings that include Fresh Berries, Citrus Curd, Peanut Butter Mousse, and Dulce De Leche.
