However, this isn’t your traditional Village Inn…

According to Lehan, “This particular restaurant is a brand new prototype. It has a full bar – which is kind of exciting for Village Inn – and it will have more healthier choices,” while still carrying the brand’s “legacy items.”

In no uncertain terms, Lehan is well suited to take on such an experimental outpost of a restaurant that’s been around for nearly seven decades, as the now-franchisee has watched the company grow since beginning his career in the industry as a Village Inn busboy some 30 years ago. Today, he operates six Florida locations, with Clearwater being the seventh.

Village Inn was founded in Denver in 1958 by restaurateurs James Mola and Merton Anderson. The brand is synonymous with a hearty breakfast and was even named Best Pie in America by the American Pie Council in 2018 while garnering numerous accolades each of the 10 years prior.

Needless to say, the company is nothing short of an institution. As written on its website, “Our guests visit Village Inn because they know they will enjoy great-tasting food and extra-friendly service in a clean and comfortable family environment.  Many of our guests who visited our restaurants in their youth now take their children and grandchildren to Village Inn— when they’re hungry for life’s simple pleasures.”
