Behind Everbowl New Tampa—the first of five locations planned for the area and the second overall in the state of Florida—are franchisees Benjamin Burkhalter and Jason Newby. What Now spoke Burkhalter on Thursday about plans for the New Tampa location.
“I’m from South Georgia originally,” Burkhalter said. “I moved to San Diego when I was eighteen to pursue entrepreneurship. I became the first employee of the company when it was founded in 2016. Then on July 4, 2020, I became the first franchisee.”
At the time, Burkhalter says, the brand had twenty-three locations, all company-owned. Now, the launch of franchising has brought Everbowl past the 90 store mark, and its expansion is continuing. Asked what else about Everbowl has changed in the last few years (and what hasn’t), Burkhalter explained some of the brand’s overall development.
“Our slogan is Unevolve. With our menu, we started off pretty robust and complex, and I think we’ve stuck with that slogan to find the most efficient and most potent ways to deliver our products, so that we have the best superfoods with the most streamlined delivery.”
With a total of five locations planned for the area Burkhalter and Newby are showing confidence in the brand’s sticking power in Tampa Bay.
“We’re super excited to get involved with the local community, for events, high school sports organizations, anything that spreads our movement of making health fun and easy,” Burkhalter said. “A lot of people say eating healthy isn’t for them. To them I say, just give us a try, because this food tastes amazing.”
