Depot 303 is working toward an opening in early 2025—January or February, owner Jonathan Bucklew told What Now on Monday—launching at 303 NW First Avenue.

Details on the restaurant concepts opening at Depot 303 are not yet available, but an announcement is expected soon. Its sister, the Joinery, became popular with a broad selection of culinary concepts, ranging from Neapolitan wood-fired pizza concept Ava to Japanese restaurant Sabu, to barbecue joint Blue Dog.

Bucklew says lessons learned at the Joinery have contributed significantly to Depot 303’s design. “It’s going to have a lot to do with back-end personality transferring to guests experience,” Bucklew said, citing the single ordering system encompassing all vendors, plus “better flow for vendors in shared areas, having learned about guest flow, where people congregate and where they cue for lines.”

What made Mulberry seem like the place to go? What Now asked.

“Well, basically we have Brandon pushing toward Lakeland, Bartow growing toward Mulberry to the west, and Lakeland development coming south. There’s a vacuum in the middle, and that’s a desert when it comes to food and services. So we’re creating an anchor right there. This is where you want to be. It’s going to be a great dining experience, a great space to hang out, with great cocktails.”
