Launched as a small bakery in California, vegan bakery franchise Cinnaholic Gourmet Cinnamon Rolls has expanded all over the country. (That successful appearance on Shark Tank in 2014 may have helped!)

“With the success of Shark Tank, the founders decided to turn their concept into a franchising system to share the joy of Cinnaholic with as many people as possible,” says the Cinnaholic website’s About page. “Since then, Cinnaholic has opened over one hundred locations in the U.S. and Canada.”
One of those locations will soon be opening in St. Pete. According to coverage by St. Pete Rising, the new Cinnaholic will replace Nutrishop at 5250 Fourth St. N, offering baked goods that are “100% plant-based, dairy and lactose-free, egg-free, and cholesterol-free.”
“The first step in creating your cinnamon roll is electing a frosting flavor,” says the St. Pete Rising coverage. “The decadent diverse frosting flavors include almond, banana cream, cake batter, caramel, chai, coffee, crème brûlée, hazelnut, lemon, maple, marshmallow, peanut butter, raspberry, and more. Next, the buns are topped with your choice of apples, bananas, blueberries, brownie bites, chocolate chip cookie bites, coconut, marshmallows, pie crumble, pretzels, raspberries, raspberry and strawberry jam, sprinkles, and more.”
There are also preimagined varieties like the classic Old Skool; the Cookie Monster (Cream cheese frosting topped with homemade chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate chips & chocolate sauce); and Shake, Rattle & Roll (peanut butter frosting topped with homemade peanut butter cups, fresh bananas and pretzels).
What Now confirmed news of the opening with franchisee Victor Hamisevicz on Monday. No opening date has yet been projected.
